Although set up primarily to raise awareness of the proposed Merkins Wind Farm development on the Kilpatrick Hills above Gartocharn, Bonhill, Jamestown and other communities in the Balloch/Dumbarton area, we also hope we are presenting various facts about wind turbines that the developers do not always make clear.

The planning application for Merkins Wind Farm has now been submitted. Details can be found here. The application was declared valid on 30 January 2012. Our understanding is that comments should be made at least 14 days before the Committee date. This date is not yet known but we'll let you know when we know!  There is a possibility that the Committee date will be in August 2013. So, if you want to comment about this application, and haven't already done so, don't delay!

We welcome feedback so please get in touch if you have something to say or something you would like us to include on the site.
